So, I just received my Ultra Gauge MX v1.4 and plugged it into the OBD II port and set up the screens like I wanted. All good, except now the auto headlights on/off do not work and the auto high beams no longer work. When the lights are set to auto with the stalk pushed forward, the high beams stay on. Very odd.

I am hoping this was not a very expensive mistake…

Has anyone seen this before by chance?

Do the lights work correctly if you unplug the ultra gauge? If so, and if the functions you say are affected are controlled by ECU it could be a CAN communications conflict between the vehicle and ultra gauge.

I have unplugged the Ultragauge, turned the car off and on. No joy. I was hoping power cycling would resolve the issue.

I’ll give it a shot and report back.

Ok, yours truly hanging head in shame.
No fault of the Ultra Gauge, the user was the problem. So, during my rooting around under the dash to remove the tray and route the OBD II cable, I inadvertently hit the auto headlight switch unknowingly disabling….

the Ultra gauge tech support was very gracious and helpful. Cool bit of kit once you get it routed and set up. Big fan. Can’t get transmission temp. Only get an ERR when trying to access that gauge. Any ideas?

I think you need to configure a special code to read transmission temp. At least that's what I remember reading for the scangauge. Not sure if the ultragauge is configurable the same way. Search PID scangauge transmission temp you will probably find it.

That gas mileage reading seems about right for 200.

Search for Scangauge PIDs to see if someone has a code for trans temp.

What mount are you using? Can you get to the buttons on the back okay?

I’m using the supplied hook and loop adhesive square that comes with the kit. I ordered the vertical mount as well. Experimented with both and found the simple hook and loop to be my choice.

Yes, you can reach the buttons as mounted. It’s a quality system. The construction is very nice.

BrownDog09, did you get the transmission temp to work on your ultragauge MX1.4 ?
