Greeting everyone, not sure where to put my first post but this seems as good a place as anywhere.

I found this site via the LC60 group on Facebook and what a great site, a total font of knowledge.

My name is Malcolm but my friends call me Goosefish, I’m 54 years old and live on the coast at Kent in the UK.

12 months ago I was looking for a car/station wagon to use for my fishing trips.
After weeks of looking at the same old boring junk I came across an ad in the local classified paper.
It read “Toyota Landcruiser 1984 for sale, Red, Real work horse. £800 Needs work, no MOT”
£800 I thought, that cant be right. I phoned the number and jumped in a cab to travel the 10 miles to see this work horse.
She was tatty but I fell in love with her, paid the man £700 and drove her away.

Here she is on that very first meeting, a 1984 HJ60 (6 cylinder diesel) station wagon.

Welcome to the board! She looks solid, let's see some better pictures when you get a chance! Should come in handy for that spell of snow you guys are getting across the pond!

Cheers!

Goose -
So what's petrol these days? We're at $1.75/gal for 85 RON (with ethanol 'cause it's winter but it'll be 68F today & no snow).

Oh yeah, almost forgot!:flipoff2:

(The official Mud noob welcome)

But you have to finish the limmeric:

"There once was a lad from Kent..."

Welcome ! Watch out, there are some very cool mods you can do to that thing. It can really become addicting...and your wallet will thin out fast ! At least that's what happened to me after finding IH8MUD.

Good luck trying to find time to fish... you will soon see what I mean :wrench::wrench:

Hi Goose! - UK boy here as well, with a similar truck..which I am rebuilding at the mo..

They are great arn't they!

If only I could get my hands on a cheap diesel cruiser for US$1000. Wouldn't we all be happy Cruiser heads? 700 quid is a good deal man. It'll run long enough to give to your grand kids. :)

Once again, congrats on the purchase, and it will soon end up draining all of your available funds. :hillbilly:

Welcome

You made a good choice. :)

Take care of the small issues first before putting money down on modifying it.

Anything relating to the engine post in the diesel forum and anything else in here to get the most responses.

Thanks again for the welcome guy’s
Tinker don’t get me started of the price of fuel over here, .87p per litre for petrel and .99 per litre for diesel, that makes it around £5 per gallon 90% of which is tax to the government (B*****S)

As promised here are a few more pictures

Last summer, front bumper off ready to attack the rust on the bodywork.

Hi Aakeyey, I made the console myself as they are not available over here and far to expensive to have shipped from the states or Aus.
Its marine ply/ hardwood covered in glass and painted with Flowcoat.
