Would like to see the size, but may be a decent alternative to the LX600 in the future for whatever we call what we do. The 1st Gen Sequoia was slightly larger than the 100 Series of the era, and the 2nd Gen is huge to compete with the Tahoe's at Starbucks. Interesting that they went back to the solid rear axle too.

And the original scuttle from MotorTrend was that it was keeping the independent suspension all around. I'm really surprised as well, but I'm guessing it shares a lot of underpinnings with the Tundra and LX600. They mentioned the newer tech of laser welding the body and frames for weight reduction and improved rigidity.

The 300 also has aluminum body panels. Wonder what else they are quietly moving away from steel.
 
Trial run of the portable diesel heater on MLK weekend. Plugs into my switched external aux power (same switch for reverse flood light that I unplug when needed). The unit sits under the tailgate and hot air is ducted into the cab or tent. I modified the thermostat to detach and move inside the heated area too so it doesn't cook me out. Worked well with the hatch down but I think I need to make some sort of curtain to lessen the open tailgate draft. Still, never zipped up the sleepingbag.

The napa awning has unpainted aluminum tube brackets that the poles insert into and hinge from. The ARB awning has ABS plastic parts (black plastic). The Academy version appears to be using black plastic as well, but I can't comment on the quality of that plastic.
 
I have a CVT awning on my motorcycle trailer and I really like it. If I ever do add one to my 80 then that’s the route I’m going. About $200-$220 but worth the extra $ in my opinion.
 
Feel sorry for those of you daily driving a cruiser right now. Gas prices do seem to be falling however.
 
My son has driven Miatas for a while now. Once I get shoe-horned into one of them, they are fun to drive. Easier when the hard top is not installed and much easier when it is truly top-down convertible weather.
