As far as I know, that's what the OE replacement now is, but I'm looking for now. Be back with.

Edited: not sure which is short side. Still looking.

Does anyone have specs on where exactly to machine the pass side shaft? I know this an old a$$ thread :)

given that this question was posed less than 2 years ago, I'm going to assume that Landtank is still somewhat the owner of this info...and based upon his response to this request then, I'd say that you got your freebie in the concept of the solution. now if you want to tackle this job, you just need to take the time to remove the third and take your own measurements...seems pretty straight forward to me, and that if you had your own tools, you'd be able to surmise this on your own. if you were going to take the specs to a guy with the tools to pay them to do the legwork, you should just pay LT instead. the resource of this forum will become less than useful if we fail to continue to support it...

old assed 2 year old thread...don't get married...

Wow you wasted some time with your that babbling rant :D. Guess I posted it in the wrong forum.. Oh I forgot this is a tech forum!

hey, you got any trade secrets you wanna share with me? I swear it won't cost you a dime...

...it's the technical welfare that's ruining our country...

I share lots of info with people who ask me about my v8 conversions for those who venture to do it on their own. Plan was to try this route first as I'm using upgraded shafts and LT has change out stockers.

and he would be the guy to send your shafts to, as he stated, he could take your shaft and turn it into one of his; unless you have the tools and know-how; at which point, I say, yank your own pumpkin and break out the calipers...
are you offering up drop in v8 conversions as a part of your income? how much engineering have you got into it? is it truely different than anyone elses v8 conversion? has your v8 conversion addressed a design flaw in the original equipment? is you v8 conversion innovative to the point where a patent could be applicable?
there are no free lunches; you have to carry your own tools; the horse must do its own drinking...and you gotta wipe your own arse. sorry. put on your empathy cap and put yourself in someone elses position.

I wholeheartedly agree with LCs sentiments and have no intention of pulling food of LTs table.

That said, there's "special tooling" that's involved with chucking up a drive shaft and cutting the hardened splines off that cost more than paying for Rick's shaft. ;)

The area and depth to cut is well documented on older threads and, by description, simplifies understanding the premise behind.

Pretty much, if anyone has the wherewithal to machine the splines off, the area has been visible on several, older e locked shafts I've seen, coincides with the LT shafts I have, and depth is a no brainer.

Well my shafts are brand new I'll have to borrow some for mock up. There was no intent to "remove" not steal from LT nor anyone. Your jumping to conclusions clearly. Furthermore, your ramble is not contributing to this thread.

Furthermore, your ramble is not contributing to this thread.

I'd typically agree with this statement, however, I clearly stated how to determine what to remove in the first post and furthered in the second.

It's not rocket science, but the initial idea was Rick's and doubt anyone that subscribed to and paid for the service will divulge actual measurements.

My apologies I didn't quite have my coffee on board yet... I reread the thread and saw where you went into detail. I appreciate the responses.

and...exhale. 1,2,3, now, inhale.....

I like to share as well, truth be told, but I have first hand experience with sharing myself out of the market I could have made some money in, so I like to think I have learned from that, and would not ask someone to divulge information that they may want to keep for themselves in order to feed their families. Now if LT had been offering this info up, I would not be suggesting that you offer to share some money for the knowledge...but he has already very graciously declined to grace to masses with this intelligence, and has in fact requested that he be kept in the profit loop regarding this topic, and he should be allowed to expect that for his efforts and contributions to this and many other threads. end rant.
