I have been using straps and the fridge moves still while wheeling, thinking of doing a turnbuckle solution. It sits on the sliding drawer for my drawers so the slider isn't the right option and the transit lock is plastic and someone told me they tend to break.

So seeing some turnbuckle bracket applications out there. Wondering what others had with links if you got them.

Romer,

No pics here at work but I have my fridge mounted with turn buckles. I'll snap a few when I get home. I turned the handles on the fridge up side down and put hook eyes through the bottom board of my storage unit and hooked up the TB's to that. I also rubber coated the hooks on the TB's to keep them from scratching the paint on the fridge handles. I was going to mount the fridge on the top of the storage unit but I ended up cutting a hole in the top of the storage unit and sinking it in so the fridge wouldn't sit so high. The thing does not move even with just a slight twist on the TB's.

Photos to follow. Actually here is a thread I started with photos. The photos don't show that there are two TB's on the other end as well.

I'm going to trade out the hook eyes (U bolts) for some recessed pulls like these

so I can recapture the drawer space if I take the fridge out. I wasn't thinking about that when I put the u bolts in.

Cool - thanks that helps a lot.

Where did you get the turnbuckles? and what size did you get?

I got them at Ace Hardware and I really don't know what size they are. I just measured from the handle of the fridge to the floor and added an inch or so to make sure they would cinch up tight. I had to pry open one of the ends because they came with a hook on one end and a closed loop on the other. A large screw driver and a BFH took care of it.

Remember too that if you turn the handles the way I have them the insulated cover will not fit because the handles are in the wrong position. I do remember here somewhere that a crafty Mud member stiched new slots for the handles to fit his fridge with the handles up side down.

Sorry I cant give you an exact size of the TB's but if you take a tape measure with you or use one at the hardware :o you can get the size perfect.

Romer, Uncle Ben has some tie downs like that so does Lexus Ben iirc.

Hope it helps bud.
