I switched over to tube fenders and am trying to decided on what type of turn signals to go back with. I've had problems with the stock signals, broken on tree limbs and such, so I'm looking for a different option. Any pics or ideas that you have tried would be a great help.

Thanks,
Mark

I used the early 70's on mine I angle cut a small piece of thick wall tube for the angle underneath then bolted it through, cheers, Larry

I used a set of motorcycle turn signals on my 4 Runner. They mount with two bolts and can be mounted anywhere that is flat. You can see them on teh grill in this picture.

i have some clearance lights that were put on by the PO (one of the few good things he did) mounted to the bib in the same location as the early model signals...iv never had any problems with them being in the way

I have the stock bib lights and converted them from just running lights to signals and running lights its really easy because the socket they use is already set up for dual fillament bulbs and its just missing the brass contact in the socket so salvaged some contacts from and old light socket and slid them in hooked it up and there mint the original bulb was even the dual style!:grinpimp:

Thanks for the ideas, I like the looks of the stock lights, and my fenders are angeled to help retain the cruiser look, but they are too vulnerable to damage. I am leaning more toward the smaller more flush after market style, the homemade gaurd around them is giving me a new direction to explore.

Thanks again,
Mark

Signals on the fenders (with guards, of course) would be more visible to other drivers than bib mounted lights or even Chevys of the 40s headlights with integral turn signals. Good for driving defensively.

I'm using the "Chevy's of the 40's" headlights on my 40 and I really like them! H-4's rock and the LED directionals are really bright!
