I've got a 95 Land Cruiser and when I step on the brakes the right turn signal lights up dimly (doesn't flash) both on the cluster and outside the car. The turn signal operates normally, other than being dimly lit whenever stepping on the brake pedal. It will still flash when turned on. This started a couple of weeks ago, seemingly out of nowhere. I checked the trailer wiring and nothing is touching that shouldn't be. Any ideas what could cause this?

Thanks in advance.

could be a bad ground in that light housing or the trailer hitch wiring converter could also be going bad .
Id start with those two first then work from there

Thanks for the info. It ended up being the trailer wiring converter.

For those coming across this 15 years later, I had the same problem today. Followed harness from hitch to the rear passenger panel and removed the trailer hitch wiring converter. Problem solved. Now I just need a replacement if I intend to tow.
