Working on my 75 fj40 all lights work fine except when I activate turn signal switch each direction it makes all hazards flash front and rear instead of just one side of the vehicle was told on here to clean signal switch and hazard switch which I have done maybe not good enough took both completely apart and cleaned the contacts still same results all hazards flash kinda lost what to do next

Same thing happened on my 73..I had to make sure there was good grounding of the front and rear turn signals, also make sure the bulbs are clean and the wires aren't cracked or loose to the turn signals.

Both front turn lights are grounded to negative on battery and both rear are grounded to the rear body with new holes for a good ground and all brand new lights not led

Might be redundant but make sure your battery has good grounds to frame and block. I also had to clean the headlight switch and make sure it was operating properly, because the signals were malfunctioning while the lights were on.

100% WAG. Wonder if your PO swapped out the turn stalk and bought the wrong year stalk. Or did he/she buy a new hazard switch for a different year cruiser.

If you post pictures of your Turn/Hazard switches wiring someone might chime in as to whether you have the correct stuff.
