Already searched the forum, will 20" BBS Tundra wheels (the ones that come from the factory) fit on a 100 series? I did see a post with 20" Tundra wheels but not the BBS ones.

5 lug Tundra wheels / rims that fit 2007 and up Tundras will fit 100 Series Cruisers... If the 20" BBS wheels you are looking at are off a 07 or newer Tundra they should work fine...

The lug pattern should fit, but also make sure the backspacing matches up. That was an issue with the 17" TRD Rock Crawlers.

It's never an issue with backspacing. It seems, all OEM '07+ tundra wheels will fit the 100 in the rear. The issues occur fitting the front because of lateral hub clearance. Sometimes it is a matter of just the center cap. Sometimes it is the actual wheel that has interference.

It's this wheel, 20in BBS off a 2008 Tundra. Will they fit a 2000 and how much more difficult and more expensive is it to get tires for 20s?

I don't foresee those fitting without wheel adapter/spacers... or you'll need to bore out the hub area.

I purchased some BFG AT/TA's in 285/60/20 for my old tundra and they were $366 ea new. Not cheap. That's a 34.5 inch tire.

If you take your hundy offroad, you most likely get better performance off a tire on an 18 inch rim rather than a 20 inch rim assuming the same overall tire diameter. The higher sidewall allows you to deflate and float better on sand and mud. On road performance will be better on the 20's. Tires generally will be more expensive on the 20's.

I have an 80 for offroad so I'm not too worried about the 20s. I have a neighbor with a set of the BBS Tundra wheels in his garage. I just wanted to know if they will fit and how much more per tire. If they require spacers and other mods, they probably aren't worth it to me.

16's will give you the most tire choices by a pretty big margin. 18's can run almost $100 more per tire over a 16. I would guess you would see something similar if not more in the 20". Hope over to discount tire or 4wheel parts and compare the tire of your choice for price differences....

:whoops: you're right. It's the center hub; NOT backspacing issues. And another correction to my original post, they are the Rock Warrior wheels; NOT Rock Crawler. My bad!

Ha, no worries. What is a rock warrior anyway?

Dumb question, but will 16 inch rims fit over the brakes etc?

More people on here are running stock 16's than any other size... although I think that is slowly shifting....

Ok shows my ignorance, I thought the 18's I have were stock. I may have to search for some 16's :)

They are.
Toyota used 16"s for a few years and then switched over to the 18s.

98-02 model years the 16" was standard. 03-07 got the 18s. Tire options are plentiful in 16", but you can't move up to a 35" tire without going to a 315 section width. Not terrible, but you have to address rubbing issues much more thoroughly with a tire that wide. Conversely, there are some much skinnier 35" options with an 18" wheel, albeit you get less sidewall.

Also, different tires can present different issues because of size variations between manufacturers. Example, my 305 duratracs continue to give me problems without spacers. I love the tires, but I don't see any way that a 315 duratrac will ever fit on my rig. I'm going to have to get spacers just to get my 305s off of the UCAs...forget 315s. I'll have to upgrade to 18s if I want a 35" duratrac. Other people are running different brands of 305s with no rubbing issues, so it just depends.

I guess the point here is, weigh your options before going out and buying 16s. If you want 35s, it will cost you less to do it now since you won't have to go out and buy new wheels.

My tires? No, they wont, not in 305 at least. 285s would be fine. Other people are running Nitto terra grapplers and BFG KM2s in 305 with no rubbing issues. I think the Duratracs are just a fatter tire with side lugs that stick out alot. A spongier 2-ply sidewall probably doesn't help, either (vs 3 ply on others). I'm looking at replacement options this weekend.

If you're referring to the Tundra 20s, then I'm not sure. Bolt pattern is correct, but hub clearance might be an issue.
