Tundra seats even **close** to fitting an 80?

It's a million to 1 shot, but noticed how close Tundra seats are to ours, and if all it takes is a simple adapter plate to fit - we all could find a wrecked Tundra ('08+) in tan or grey leather.

Since I bet someone has beat me to the idea (Joey,Chris,Rick) - has anyone looked at the bolt pattern & if height/width makes it do-able?

Doesn't need to be "like a glove" - more "horseshoe/hand grenade" - we can make adapter plates.

I've been web shopping the Rock Warriors as a separate truck purchase as a boat hauler, was noticing how similar style the seats are between them & 80 leather seats.

I'm going to venture to guess the answer is no just based off how wide the tundra and the seats are. Ifthere's any measurement you want or need, I can do some picture taking and measurements for ya

Couldn't hurt, yeah - how wide across the butt cushion is a Tundra seat?

It looks like it is a true 2 seat setup in the non-bench 60/40's right?

If we start there & looks close to a 80 width, we can move down to the seat bolt pattern & see what all need / can be fabbed to fit it.

Or if it's too fat for an 80 it's just another brick of an idea, thrown on the pile.

I've never even been in an '08+ Tundra, so they could be waaaaaaaaay too wide, just going from netz pics.

No, the tundra seats are similar to the 100 series setup. Wider than the 80s and different bracket pattern.

Sorta expected so just from walking past Tundras in a parking lot, was just hoping a pair would fit in an 80 cab.

Not surprised, those are some wide hips on a Tundra - camera took off 10-15#'s from shots I saw. Oh well.

Its really not that big of a deal to fit some seats in an 80. You are going to have to modify almost anything you find due to the fact that the 80 is only about 13'' across the seat rails. Most everything else is wider, closer to 18''. Really, its not that difficult though. The only problem is keeping everything low so your headrest doesn't hit the ceiling.

I'm game for all sorts of metal work - it may take a bit undoing hog rings & pulling apart to make & modify a Tundra seat > 80 bolt pattern, the big **if ** like you say, is overall height. That is exactly where/why I really think the set of Recaro seats I have won't play nice.

I have a set from a later 16v VW GTI - not the universal 6 bolt subframe, the ones with a VW bracket as base (USA only, have the full Recaro name stitch & are the grey/grey multi-color centers, just not as high/tight bolsters) - story goes Americans didn't like SR bolsters, we're too fat.

At any rate, I may go bug the sales crew at Yoda & look while I see the diff level Tundras on the lot, see what they can do in real life.

My seats need help & I know my money is safer if I buy/chop seats than send Shane money for leather - we'll see what happens on the car lot.
