Looking at old posts on maintence - what is the tuna can that is being emptied?

When it rains hard the headliner between the DS driver and passenger door is damp by the "handle" and the seat belt may be wet. The floor is not wet. Is this most likely the rear drain which is not visible w/out dropping headliner. Nelson

on the first one, that would be a small collector can that is on the underside of the air cleaner canister, which is designed to catch solid particles.

On the second one, remove the plugs on the rocker (both driver and pass side) and leave them out.

the rear drain tube is visible inside the rear quarter but i think it drains on the ps side not the ds. in case i am wrong, pull the tool box compartment and look for a 1 inch clear plastic tube running over the wheel arch.

There are a total of 4 roof drains, one at each corner. I suspect yours are plugged allowing the pan to overflow. Depending on the angle the vehicle is parked the water could go anyplace.

The front drains travel down through the A pillars and empty into the rocker panel cavities. The rear drains come down behind the C pillars and the tubes exit the body behind the rear wheels.

Thanks for the info. I'll have to work on that rear one. Nelson
