ive got the waterproof version and i love it. i went in with cash and talked them down to 300. they talked me up to the waterproof one due to the snow that would get packed in there. he said there were a couple little differences as far as the quality of the gears and stuff goes, but he said they haven't had any complaints. i know a guy on mud with the name pinhead has the same one you're talking about. he made a cool mount for it on a stock bumper. long story short, i've had mine for almost a year and it's been awesome.

I have had one for 2.5 years and it has been fine and I actually used it last week. I use it 3-4 times a year. I chose it over other identical Chinese winches because I live 5 miles from them and if I needed any warranty business, I know where they live. It looks identical to the newer model HF "badlands" winch and is about the same price. The parts interchange with other Chinese winches. They are like peas in a pod, so pick one that you can get good warranty service on if you need it. You don't want to be shipping that thing back.

I use one of their replacement transmissions on my old electric MM E-1200 and did it quite well ... sold that winch with that tranny and as far as I know is still working ..

Just installed one, 12,500 classic

Old thread revival, are these winches still in use?

Aber naturlich.

Mismatched the thread date........ thought it was a few years ago.

If that winch is comparable with a WARN 9000I it would be well enough for me. :meh:

Danke schön.

Since my rig has been down I haven't gotten to use it yet. Will update once the truck is finished - hopefully very soon.

Bought one for the 80 and used it on the first trip. ;)

Somehow that step collapsed under his FJC and that rock found its way......... ;-)

LOL--That's a funny picture with the FJC. I mean, we've all been high centered, but that's taking it to new heights! Or maybe he wanted to try out his skid plates!

Peter-we missed you and had an epic trip.
