Tub questions: weight and shipping

Title says it all.
Anyone know the weight of a tub ('70 FJ40)?
Anyone have any ideas on shipping one across country?

I'm right in the middle of this dilemma as well. I am in Montana and am looking at Aqualu and a steel tub from Oscar. Shipping from Canada is in the neighborhood of $600 for the aluminum tub. Shipping from Oscar in Georgia is almost $1400.00. Not cheap from any direction. My thinking is for the price difference I can get some new aluminum fenders or 1/2 doors from Aqualu.

When I had my Gozzard fiberglass tub and other junk shipped from his shop (in Canada, north of Detroit) to Sandpoint, ID, it cost me almost $1800 with the Customs brokerage fees. Since 3 of us carried it off the trailer, I'd guess it weighed under 500 lbs.

If you have the capability, just go get it.
