Trying to align new rear hatch (2 Viewers)

I’m replacing the rear hatch on my 80 because of a rear end collision. Got the new one installed but can’t get it fitted properly.

There is too big of a gap at the top when closed, but it rubs when I try to open it. If I move the top back on the hinge it won’t open because of the metal to metal at the top of the hatch, but when I move them the other direction, the gap gets larger.

Any tips?

NVM. Figured out the hinge was bent. Thankfully the replacement hatch still had its hinges! All good
