With the purchase of a 6'' lift soon coming i really want to get as close as i can to a "true 35'' tire. I have been reading that the goodyear MTR are almost a inch off. Is this true ?
I put a set of goodyear MTR on my wife's exterra and really like the on/offroad attributes,
but on the other hand i want to get as close or even maybe a little over a 35'' tire.
anyone know if the BFG MT run in smaller sizes aswell ?
thanks

Look at the Swamper TrXus MTs (not the STS.) They are a true 35. And tuck into the fender wells nicely. They also do well off road. I think they clear mud and stick to wet rocks better than my old MTRs did, which is important if you're wheeling on the right coast.

I just put new 315 MTR's (had them sipped) on my truck, and really like them so far. Mine measure 34.5" tall on the vehicle on factory rims. This is typical of most radials, measuring a little undersize. Maybe it's the squat factor? My BFG MT's measured undersize as well, and after having both, I think I like the MTR's better. There are some new tires coming out in this size that I'ld like to look into for next time. The Toyo MT shows a 315/75/16 tire in some list, but not in others. I don't know if it's out yet. I'ld also like to see the Mud Grappler Extreme Terrain from Nitto in this size but they don't make it in this size yet. There just aren't a lot of choices in this size tire from my searches. The Truxus MT is used by some here, but I read time after time of it's balancing issues. I just didn't trust it myself. It's time for some of the big dogs, BFG, Goodyear, etc. to completely re-do their radial mud tires. Wish I could get the Michelin XZL in this size, but it's more like 36x9.5 and hard to get.

most tires are not true to size....check out http://www.pitbulltires.com, their stuff actually runs a tad oversize. 35's are out, others pending...guess around $220 per for a 35.

I also have the truxus just in a 33. I love them on the trail, and some on the road. THey are not as bad as i thought about balancing. And they are quiet. Just soft and wear fast.
