Do you have two feet? When they taught you to drive and told you to only use one foot they were wrong. Left foot on Brake, Right foot on accelerator! it works when I'm rock crawling, It works when I'm driving a forklift, It should work with a Land Cruiser on the street on a steep hill.
Actually I’m disabled.
My right leg works great, my left leg not so well.

Mine started doing this, it does not hold the vehicle, this never use to be a problem, the vehicle use to hold without crazy clicking noises. Has anyone had this fixed?

I thought my 2018 lost its hill start assist. Then I learned it would only work after releasing the brakes if I had mashed the brakes in much more than was necessary (and much more than I ever would do naturally) to stop the vehicle on the hill. In other words, I had to press the brakes all the way to floor to get it to work. It was frustrating as my Nissans' hill-start assist functions always worked without any issue. Note that my 2021 LC as of yet has no issue with this working normally as above commenters said it should. I need to look into the zero-point calibration of the vehicle's accelerometers mentioned by TecKis300 above.

I might have to get that checked, would be strange if it did go out of calibration randomly without any work done to the vehicle though. I wonder if this is the next stage of the issue with center diff lock flashing that I've had periodically since I bought the 200, although that hasn't been playing up while this issue has arisen.

Hill assist in Toyota's is garbage. In my Merc, I just give the brake pedal a quick double tap and that thing's not going anywhere until I touch the throttle.
