Truck Dies - Would no condensor cause this?

Just recently (thanks everyone) upgraded my 63 Cruiser to 78 Distributor and Ignitor setup. Runs wonderfully and there is definitely a power increase, not huge, but noticeable.

I only have one issue. Sometimes when rolling to a stop, the truck dies. It does not idle slower and slower and then die.....it just cuts off, bleh- dead.

It fires right back up and off I go, but it's almost like I turned off the key. Now this is not every time, as I go out to run a few errands it may happen twice.

Only thing I noticed different from my installation vs. the diagram is that condensor as shown by the red arrow (I don't have one installed).

Now, I have a condensor, but because the diagram does not show what it looks like, Mine looks like about 3/4" of a AA battery with a mounting tab on it. It has a blue wire coming out one end and a black wire with a eyelet connection (like a ground wire) coming out the other end.

Should I mount this thing, ground the black to the block, and then send the blue wire to the "+" of the coil?

Not sure what else to do to solve this issue.

Not having the condensor shown won't have any effect on running. It is there to suppress RF interference in the AM radio band.

well......farts.....can't blame it on the condenser....

The schematic calls it a condensor, but it is not the same as an ignition system condensor. It is a dinky capacitor that should be labeled "RF noise suppressor".

Not sure what else to do to solve this issue.

Start by diagnosing the problem.

Is it fuel or spark? To test, hook up a spark tester of some sort (I use a timing light) and tape to the windshield. Now drive vehicle and make symptom happen, observing spark tester.
If spark goes away the instant of engine shutdown, then pursue ignition troubleshooting.
If spark does not go away as engine is dieing, then pursue fuel troubleshooting.
