The freshly skinned rear door, adding up the new fenders. we'll always build our fenders to match up with the original apron thats on the truck, if there is not one then we'll make one and match it to our fender, just so that we will have the smoothest line possible, as it runs across and down to the bib.

This is on one of our 40's,that we're nearly finished, The troopy will be pretty much the same set up, a bit stiffer though.

lomusass, great work as usual. Is it possible to add a rear passenger doors to a Troopy? I always wondered if it would be possible to do something like an LV for access to the rear seats. I have never seen the insides of a Troopy or how they are built so not sure if it could be done, but I know you would.

I have on HJ47 with an extra side door on the passenger side. I'll post some pics soon ... been meaning to for a while. Mine is the only 45/47 series troopy that I've seen with the extra side door, but there's a few 70 series troopies with extra side doors used for ambulance vehicles at mine sites here in Australia. Here's one which is right outside my door at the moment (I'm currently out at work):

I managed to find a photo of my troopy with extra side door ... sorry the photo is not that great, I'll take a few more when I get back home:

Beautiful Paul!!

Why have I only just found this thread?! I am stunned. I lived in Panama for 18 months, and I never met you- I feel like I really lost out. You are really doing amazing work. PLEASE keep posting pics of your work!

I have always wanted to put 80 series axles and suspension under my HJ47 troopy. Have you done this before? What are your thoughts on this?

Cheers,

Josh

Yes - excellent workmanship. I work in sheet metal as well - not automotive though. I would love to see a full shot of your spot welder set up - those are some monster jaws on that thing. Ours are similar but only about 24" long and mounted in a stationary pedestal. Yours must weigh a ton. What do you have for press breaks? How do you draw the metal and form those handle recesses? Do you have specific dies or some sort of universal tooling.

WOW - so many questions:D

Post more progress please - I need more info and a picture says a thousand words:cheers:
