This is my latest project. I have been working on the prototype. But plan on being a different approach to what is currently out there.

Goals.

Retain the same shape as the current one.
Allow for hundreds of different gauge combinations.
Integrated turn signals, high beam, and dummy lights.
Fully customizable.
100% water resistant for those using electronic gauges.

Pics coming next month.

Should be well under $100 for the basic shell.

Progress was made today. I now can make the base for the project. Now on to finding some gauges thay will have the right look.

Plugged them in to see what they looked like.

They use stepper motors.

The plan is to cut the out of the housings and mount them behind the panel and then spray the back of the panel in flat black.

The tubes that hold the gauges in will have lights attached to the backs of them. This way I can make the tube surface that is showing on the front become the turn signals and high beam light.

Video of the gauges. I'm not a fan of all the colors but it does allow you to go with whatever look you want.

Also The gauges all have a high and low warning system. This way I can set a low fuel mode, low and hi oil pressure warning, low and high voltage, high temp.

Pretty cool..

Dude that is sweet!

Do you repair and refurbish OEM clusters?

Fresh paint and the only working gauge is the voltage.

Speedo working correct. If so I can probably put together a set of gauges and paint the trim. As far as the gauge black and while lettering I have not tackled that yet.

I'm always up for a challenge.

Well I will have to send that off to you then. Just let me know how much. If I do that then I may have you repaint the cluster cover, ash tray and glove box door all to match. Give me an estimate.

Say 50 to have the stuff painted and anything else I can think of to make it look better. That would include shipping back.

Doesn't include fixing the gauges but I'll just have to see what is wrong with them.

OK thanks. What I can do is mail you another cluster where I think all the guaged work but the face of it has some surface rust.

Did you ever finish up a demo product of these and work up a cost? Lots of problems with my gauges, wondering if it would be better to scrap the whole setup and go all new.....
