I've been tossing this idea around in my head for several years. At first I tried to get the SD40 produced again but getting the molds and tooling made for what would probably be a really small order just wasn't feasible. So I started looking at other vehicles that had similar big window carbs that were still being produced. The question is it worth pursuing? I think so after looking over the samples I received.

The biggest issue now is getting adapters and jetting it to work with the siamese 1bbl intake.

If you don't know what it is it's off a Crown 5R. So over the next few months I'll be working on giving this a shot and see if I can come up with a big window alternative.

funky. i almost picked one up. iirc, it was like an sw30 or something. guy wasn't sure but thought it was off an old nissan

Sounds like a neat project, but I can't imagine any demand for it. Not to stereotype but those interested in the big window are looking to keep things original. Two barrel siamese intakes are a little rare and adapting at both the manifold and intake might spoil the novelty.

This one however has me interested: DW30
If nothing else, to steal the grey plate out of it. :hillbilly:

that's the one i was looking at too. if it had been half that price, i would already have pighead working on adapting that center section ;)

If it were bolt on for a two barrel and you had the Aisan etched into the glass in the same style as the plate.............

Curious how wide is the throat and what air cleaner options? With the two and three carb manifolds the biggest draw back for me is what to do about a air cleaner and keep it looking some what stock. Those little air cleaners you see used on Weber carbs do nothing for me. A little extra power would be nice but these aren't muscle cars, they're utility vehicles.
