Finally found an '05 LX. Thanks to MUD for all the education, I passed on a few sketchy ones. Paid too much, but maint/body extremely clean. Also, if anyone wants my 2001 LC Owner's Manual and cover (from #1 rig) happy to send to you for the postage.

The low hanging fruit first:
First, got a small commercial ozone generator to clean out the last of the smoke (worked very well), then new cabin air filters. Not surprisingly, fixed the broken ash tray cover with a glue gun from behind. Maybe it had been sending a msg to prev. owner?

Second, replaced the gas shocks on the rear hatch. (At 6'2", I always just cleared the open hatch on my LC. Assumed the same clearance on this vehicle...WRONG!....I'll spare ya'll the bloody scalp pic.) Now swings out of scalp range.

OK, here's the question- what's the deal with working this rubber seal back over the plastic housing? Is it just me, do you wait for hot weather...I spent 15 mins on it & don't want to tear it. I'm assuming it snugs over, right?

I did the same struggling to work it back one. Then I found you can release the white plastic collar put the rubber around it and snap it back in place. Surprise.....

So how did you run into this issue? Was it just loose like mine, or were you replacing the hatch, etc..
Anyway, thank you!
