I run TRD RW wheels with 1.25spacers from Slee. Never any problems or with a true 33inch Toyo AT. I've never heard any clicking either. I've ran spacers on almost every car I've owned at one time or another. From my understanding, any wheel spacer is hubcentric otherwise you'll have a hell of a time with the balancing. The lugs pull the wheel to the vehicle and the hubcentric spacers extend the vehicles built in centric hubs. Basically the weight is still shared with the hubs as well as the lugs. All in all.... you can't fix the chance that something might happen. But I'd say most of the time when it does, its cause you can't fix stupid. So be smart in your decision. Make sure if you do have spacers that the wheels are sitting flat with no debris or dirt in between. Torque them to spec and check the lugs after a couple hundred miles. Check them again before going off road or on a road trip and after. Good Luck... I love these wheels.
