The fitment charts were incorrect, so the sensors didn't work with my model year. Even though Denso eventually agreed and admitted that their fitment information was wrong, they refused to exchange them or help me in any way because Rock Auto was not an authorized dealer. Rock Auto declined to assist because they said the sensors I bought were the correct model according to the Denso fitment information provided by the manufacturer. As the consumer, I got stuck with the wrong sensors and wasted money for both parts and installation expenses. I'm still driving around with the wrong sensors in my wheels.
@CharlieS is it a communication/connection issue or physical fit issue? I just looked it up on densoautoparts.com for my 2011 LX and it says 550-0103.

given the various feedback I’m now debating between Toyota brand vs something else, like Denso.

Physical fit is fine. It throws a communication error. There was a model year split that Denso had wrong. You just need to get the correct part number. The Toyota is a reboxed Denso part made by Pacific.

To me this is bull****. I don't blame Rock Auto at all, but Denso should be on the hook, especially because I went through the same issue a year before you did (thankfully I caught the issue before install and returned to Rock Auto). I informed Denso, so they were aware and never fixed it.

It doesn't matter that RA isn't an authorized dealer, Denso still profited off of their mistake which cost you time and money. I'd send them another e-mail saying as much, and let them know you can't afford new sensors or the labor to install based on their mistake, and hope you don't get into an accident from their mistake...
