TRD oil filter fit for 16+ LX

Hi All. Had my Lexus dealer do an oil change with M1 0W20 and a TRD oil filter. I currently have a 16 LX, but previously had a 14 LX, and a 14 LC before that. I’ve always done M1 and TRD filter combination.

Surprisingly, the dealer called me and said the filter didn’t fit, and they used one of their regular filters. No biggie, but is anyone aware of a change from the ‘13-‘15 model years to the 16+ years where the same oil filter won’t fit? Didn’t make sense to me...

I have used them for years on my ‘10. I purchase from Toyota of Dallas who gives me a discount for being a LCA member.

I just order them thru my local Toyota. They don’t stock them but I order a couple at a time...

Now that we’ve covered where they can be bought ... can anyone confirm whether or not the fit is different on the 16+ vs the 13-15? I’m guessing error / inexperience by the tech, but I’m not certain at this point...

Not for LX but they are the same for LCs.

That was my thinking too. I’m willing to bet the tech hadn’t seen anything other than the regular paper filter before and didn’t know what to do with it....
