Didn't see a thread on this one, but I might have missed it. If so, I apologize.

After purchasing a 4R Trail (2010), it was just a matter of time before I started the mods, referencing the old '96 LX. First two mods were (1) Shrockworks sliders, and (2) the TRD Cold Air, started / finished today in about 1.5 hours. It was a 1  job......I musta' done something wrong. No skinned knuckles, no extra parts.

I like this thing, not only for the under-hood bling, but for the mid-range improvement. too soon to tell if there is any MPG improvement, but i'll report back in a week or so.

What I would REALLY like for this 4R is a Landtank MAF........hint hint......I STILL love theo one on the '96 80.

Looks good!

I'll be anxious to find out your thoughts after a week or two...

That is one fancy engine cover. Any pics without all the plastic?

I'll post one up in the next day or two with the cover off......not much to look at though.

At any rate, after about three weeks, the CAI feels good mid-range. I think I'm actually noticing a 1-1.5 DECREASE in MPG, though. I also do not notice the 'whistle' others have mentioned.....

I l ike this thing, even if I am down to 16.5 mpg over mixed driving..

not much under the cover, actually....but as requested:

I've been reading differing opinions on this intake, mostly negative. Have you seen any noticeable improvements?

SO I just picked up a 2015 and have been pondering this mod as well - how has the improvement been to the engine performance? mk

I don't know what makes it a "cold air intake". What component is cooling the air? Doesn't the stock intake pull air from the same place? My guess is the only real difference this makes is a louder intake noise besides the bling
