Had to get a new starter put in and the mechanic said that there was "transmission fluid leaking around a sensor". When I asked what the part number was they tried to research it and couldn't find anything. I, too, looked at the parts diagrams and can't find it either.

Any ideas what part # this is and/or how extensive the repair is?

Thanks

It's the front speed sensor. 89411-50010

I doubt it's the sensor, though. The O-ring part number is 90301-11008; unscrew the bolt holding the bracket on and it lifts straight up. 5 minute job.

The rear sensor is in the extension housing and senses the target on the output shaft and is the same part number.

If you don't want to pay for a Toyota O-ring, remove it, pull off the O-ring and take it to any parts store. They'll have a box of metric O-rings to pick from. Rubber (Buna-N) may not be ATF compatible (I can't remember if it is or not), so ask for nitrile. No guarantee it'll last as long as OEM, though.

Thanks again for the diagram. I'm not a mechanic so apologies on the questions but will replacing this o-ring require me to drain any fluids?

No, it'll drain out all by itself, when you pull the sensor. If you're quick, and/or have a handy helper with a thumb, you won't lose more than a thimbleful.
