I've got the exact same issue. Its becoming quite prevalent and I do have to pull the codes from my blinking O/D light. What's the procedure for solenoid replacement and the associated cost of the parts. CDan is usually pretty on point with these issues some I'm pretty certain its #1.

Thanks

It's pretty straight forward. Drain tranny oil, drop pan, and you'll see the 4 solenoids.. They only have 1 electrical connection and 1 bolt holding them to the valve body.. A lot of members that have replaced them say that biggest problem is taking off the pan..Not bad.. I would take filter off tranny and rinse with water as well. But first things first, pull code to see what's going on.. IIRC a code for a bad solenoid should be code 63-65..

The A442 is actually a creation that came out of a joint effort between Aisin and Borg Warner and was designated the AW450-43LE. The solenoids can be had for $50. Part numbers and website info is in post #57 of my thread "reconstruction after rollover and other stuff I do to my 93".
