That actually makes sense.. the front part would have been supported somewhat by the output shaft of the transmission so it could have failed and not caused a crazy amount of grinding/noise/drama.

Also I agree.. seems like a good idea to replace both of those bearings if one failed.

The only reason that I found it was because I had a hard time shoving in the center TC piece back in and I accidently pulled the Transfer case input shaft along with the gear/bearings out and then heard a bunch of ball bearings falling everywhere.. Thanks for all the input guys...
