Hello

I have a BJ 60 that i just installed a 5 speed trans and transfer case.

Can anyone tell me what that unit coming out of my transfer case is?

it has a hose that's been cut off as well and i'm not sure where to put it back to?

Thanks

I'm totally no expert at this, but it looks like the vacuum thingy, that puts it in 4 HI?

It appears you have a case from a 62 series

You just put that on? Should have hit it with a pressure washer while it was out :)
That is the vacuum actuator for the four wheel drive, should be hooked up to a couple of VSV's (Vacuum Switching Valve) under the hood. Gets actuated by a switch on the dash.

My 1985 BJ60 had it, pretty much every 60 series in Canada after that year had it. Not sure which year it started in. (In Canada)

You can eliminate it by swapping in all the mechanical pieces from an earlier case. I put a 1989 tcase on the back of my H55 and used all the parts from my original 1982 tcase to convert the newer case to mechanical control. I hate the vacuum shift.
