Someone, anyone...I split the old 3 speed transmission from my vacuum transfer case and a gear fell :censor: out of my transfer case. Can someone please send me a diagram. My cruiser is a 1970 FJ40.

I know where the gear goes but I didn't see any shims or anything else fall out. Hopefully they didn't fall into my t-case. A diagram would be appreciated to see how this thing goes back together.

I'm in the process of putting my t-case behind a 700R4 and a small block chevy 400 in front of that. Thanks in advance for any help you can provide.

If you have not disassembled the t-case (and it was in working order when removed) then it could only be the input gear (helical cut) or PTO gear (straight cut). Both of these gears slide onto the transmission output shaft (input gear first, then PTO gear) without any spacers or shims.

Check SOR for diagrams of internal components, their pic's are pretty helpful. You probably dropped #9 or #10 below.

x2 on the PTO gear. The factory service manual says: "-Caution- When pulling the transfer case away from the transmission, hold on to the power take-off gear to prevent it from dropping out of the case."
