Hey. Our 2000 100 Series transmission does not hold on a hill. If you are in drive and stop on even a slight incline, it rolls backwards, unless you apply the brakes. Is this normal. Also, after you come to a stop, when you let off the brakes, but before pressing the accelerator, the car lurches forward, just a bit. Any thoughts? It only has about 38,000 miles on it. I just lubed the propeller shafts, but that did not fix the lurching. Thanks in advance for the help.

Come on Guys (Gals) how many of your 100s role back when stoped on a hill in gear, unless you apply the brakes? My wife is now worring me to death that I bought her a lemon.

By the way, I took this thing up a rocky, muddy power line easement the other day. Holly molly, I've been a Jeep guy since I was 16, actually since I was 12 when my dad bought a flatfender. However, this is one solid off road ride. Of course, it took me about an hour at the car wash elliminating any evidence of the trip, but I really was amazed at the ride and traction. I never believed in Traction Control, but, I got-a-say, it worked really well.

Our other car is an "Up County" Grand Cherokee. When I take it to my favorite fly fishing holes, the anti-lock breaks start acting up the minute I cross the first stream. From there on out it is all but impossible to stop on a hill without using the e-break. The 100 is awsome. I am tempted to sell the Grand Cherokee and by a 80 series.

Thanks for any help, storm coming, got to run.

Sorry about the typos. It is really starting to blow here and I want to log off.

NORMAL

That all sounds within the realm of normal to me. Maybe you should drive it awhile to ease her mind? :)

My cruiser lurches forward a little, but I feel it when the AC is kicking on or off. Are you running the AC when this is happening? Also, all automatic transmissions will allow a vehicle to roll backwards in drive, depending on the hill. If you roll back fast enough it will stall the motor.
