All set to do a drain/fill on the new 80, but realized this thing's got the newer tranny and perhaps a different capacity. Could one of you guys with the newer model FSM enlighten me? This is for a drain and fill ONLY, not a complete changeout.

Thanks!!

The FSM is wrong here. It takes exactly 4 quarts to refill to warm, full.

Did you get my message about the bumper caps?

4 quarts - thanks Andrew. I'm going to run a few quarts of clean fluid through for 5k or so, then have the pan pulled and the screen cleaned at the Toyota dealer. That's one of VERY few things I'll have done vs doing myself. Endless - appreciate the tip. These things are tall enough that I do this w/o ramps or jacks.

IdahoDoug, just to let you know, I put 5 quarts in mine on a D&F. So, buy a case of ATF to make sure you don't run short.....

I put 4 in the first few times, last time it was a little low, put in 5 last time and it is to high,

Put in 4 and check it after a long drive see what you get, perhaps if the tranny is warm it drains more and therefore needs more?

I recommend doing it yourself. Easy Easy. And I'm a  guy.

First time I did it... balls on 4 quarts. Last time 4 3/4. Go figure. I'd have 5 on hand.

Thanks. I've got a case on hand since it's time for the other truck as well.
