Trailriding without shocks

I spent a day at the local 4x4 park in a SOA J-10 w/o shocks. It was fun but a few hillclimbs got scary. Ran my old full width XJ without rear shocks for years, and it was my dd/tow rig. I'd atleast put fronts on if you can.
