Nice Looking Fab Work!

Thank you

beautiful, now I need to save money!

No worries, I'll be ready whenever you are.

Jason, thanks for taking the time to post those pictures. Makes for a lot of peace of mind!

Yes sir, ask any of my customers... I try to communicate daily through all my builds and show all I can in pics. That's the way I like to be treated.

Gutter clamps arrived from the laser cutter this morning. Man are these nice..

Here is a set of the new T-T gutter mount for the 80 series.

These are now available for order. I'm trying to get bumpers, etc ready for CruiserFest 2015 but will get to orders as soon as I can.

I bought a Baja Rack and found the weak point of the rack was at the feet, where the feet are bolted into the rack. While the max weight was probably accurate, I discovered you needed to go really slow on anything off pavement, otherwise the metal in the feet and connection point would buckle and fail. I'm a bit bummed out with the results.

So, try to ensure those feet are VERY beefy and ready for reasonable shock loading...!

PS- I could not transport the spare tire and gas cans x2 on the Baja Rack without the feet buckling under normal off-roading conditions.

My mounts/feet are 3/16" plate.... Not sure if anyone else makes a mount as heavy as mine. Most are 1/8" and thinner that I have researched. I'm not worried one bit about my mounts or racks.

More worried that the gutter rail on the rig will fail first.

Very nice work...

Crazy to see an "Action Jackson" call out none the less...

Could it be, Shawn is back in an 80?

Could be... He and about 15-20 others have requested quotes on the INTI style rack over the past 12 months. The BS density calculator for freight on roof racks is OBSCENE! After many months of negotiating with my freight broker I can finally offer a decent shipping rate for roof racks.

$115 shipped to the lower 48 now... BEFORE it was around $240 to a business and even more to a residence. Complete crap IMO...

I'll build the INTI clone for other series besides an 80, just let me know.

Nice looking work! I've been interested in an INTI for a while, but they are hard to come by these days. I was surprised no one else was building them and am glad to see you are building an INTI style rack. I am guessing that yours is a steel basket? Wasn't INTI aluminum or was it just the cross boards? What is do you think the weight of your rack will be?

Thanks, I think the INTI was all aluminum but not sure if it was or not. IIRC the INTI weighed 82#. The way you see mine above is 96# all steel (digital weighed today). I added a few extra rails. This one is build from 1" x 2" x .073" rectangle tube and 1" x .083" round. Its stout. I could probably shave 10-12#s or so by deleting the extra rails and going with a .065" rectangle tubing.

EDIT-- INTI-- Fed Ex ship weight was 105# (82# was pulled from a thread on another forum. Not positive on installed weight) , base is aluminum, all tubing and mounts are steel.

Not bad at all, I was expecting it to be heavier. Keep up the good work!

FYI: that INTI shipping weight included the South American crate they ship in... The crate / coffin was a wood workers / highschool kids stereo sub box thing of beauty.

INTI was a combo alum platform with steal side rails, basket, and light bar.

Very nice looking racks, and awesome job on freight negotiations, as the INTI was shipped knock down for shipping.

Understand, most shipping weight includes crate, box, wrapping etc.

I will offer a put together rack/drop side etc.. as well shortly. My price will be less than the INTI from the prices I've seen posted.

The solid rack shown above will be 750.00 and the kit with drop sides etc around 895.00, still waiting on a few pieces to arrive to see quality and fit for that kit.

Also will offer in a DIY for that crowd too.

Considering the inti style with drop down sides. From your mounts to my garage door is 4 inches. So I assuming there may be a way to make one with fold down and removable sides all around so could make as a flat rack as well? With a flat rack portion I believe I could probably clear the door with 1-2 inches to spare if i need to park in the garage to work on it. Do you use any other flooring options like the inti for a platform to stand or put a chair on.
