Weather is sounding good!

Your offer is sounding great! Thanks Wayne but I have a family function that starts Saturday evening so I will either drive up with Jordan or meet him/you guys there Sunday morning at your place or at a meeting spot.

Cheers.

Hey Wayne,
Just spoke to Jordan and he can't come up til Sunday morning either. He's bringing another guy and we were thinking to bring up some extra food to help with the breakfast cook up and join you guys at your place Sunday morning. We were also planning on bringing a grill to cook up some lunch while out there.

Update:

Jordan, his friend Aaron, and I will drive up together Sunday morning and meet at Wayne's for 9:30-ish. (We'll mind our own breaky en route but thanks though!)

We're bringing a grill so if anyone wants to cook up, no problem.

Wayne, please pm your address.

Update:

Now that Romey is in, has a shotgun seat open, and lives closer to me, I'll be riding up with him and we're gonna meet at Wayne's for breaky.

Thanks still Jordan!

Wayne,

Your hospitality is appreciated - looks like Noel is jumping in with Romer and heading up your way for the 9 a.m. feast. We're coming a different route then they are but in interest of pitching in and not having you take all the food burden on this one, let me know what we can bring along for brekky.. How about a few packs of bacon and a carton of eggs?? Looks like there will be about 7-8 mouths to feed.. I wouldn't think this group would be vegan and tree bark, but it can be arranged if thats the preference ;)>.

Cheers,

Jordan

Jordan,
the offer is much appreciated.
how about bringing something to munch on at afternoon break? i think we have a stove coming along. weiners or smokies and buns?? <just a suggestion, if you know of something unique please entertain the thought>
the wife and i already went shopping for supper and breaky.

guys, there is one section of this "road" that is pretty nasty. i STRONGLY suggest SECURE attachment points front and rear. the last thing we need is a Land Cruiser vid showing the same results as this:

also, i use family radio to contact each other. cheap at CT. saves the yelling.

just suggestions.

Yeah that vid was a super fail!

I'll bring some hot dogs, burgers, buns, simple condiments, and bottled water for lunch.

we went from dry ground on the 18th to this today ...

should be fun.

noel - lets split this up.. i'll bring the smokies, buns and cheese if you bring the condiments and drinks. let me know if it works for you.

My wife has decided to come along reluctantly :)>. she says driving a cruiser in Africa is much less intense than in Canada with all the mud, water and now snow. she always stresses out when we go wheeling, but landcruisers run in her veins.. i think she has more wheel time driving a cruiser than most of us combined.

Thanks for the warning for the attachment points crusher.. is this an area that might have some fallen trees or things that need clearing from the trail? i can bring my saw if that's the case..

We'll meet you guys at your place for 9 as per your coordinates.

So I'm confirmed for Sunday.

Won't be bringing the KZ unfortunately but will have the 4x4 Tacoma.

No wife but will be bringing my son with as well.

I'll bring some smokies and buns and drinks.

now, i guess we should discuss if everyone is leaving from the "road" to head home or does anyone want to come back for supper before the long drive home?

I will have the 50' and 100' tuggum rope as well as the 8274.
straps would be nice. clevises if you have them. working winch if possible.
shovels, chain saws would be nice for lunch fire (and matches and paper)

sounds like a really nice group showing up.
cheers

oh, and how many are showing up for breaky? seriously, my wife puts on great meals...

this sounds great guys. support group for wives needed as it is an endless conversation on the amount of money spent on this obsession ).. our first outing was a unassuming trail that was supposed to take 4 hours but ended up being 12 hours and 15 sessions of winching. i wasn't her favourite person during that escapade, but in the end, she was quite impressed we got our rig out of the places we did.. nothing like rolling in at 3 a.m. covered in dents and mud. :).. my recovery experience improved greatly that day.

i've got a snatch block, 2 inch x 30 inch recovery strap (18,000 pds), a couple shackles, tree saver and operating winch (i've verified it works quite well:)>.. also shovel, tools, chain saw, hi lift etc.

me and noel will take care of lunch basics, including bbq.. any luxury items i assume you guys can bring your these things on your own.

thanks for the supper offer, however, we're aiming to be home no later than 5, which means we've got to be on the road at 3 p.m. no later.
i've been traveling overseas for the last couple weeks and my wife leaves monday morning.. i don't think she sees this as 'quality' time, but its a compromise she is willing to take. she came on the condition i provide 3 days in a row of 1 hour massages. the things we do for marriage :).. *i'm sure she's saying the same with the cruiser thing.
