Yep do that too - hate people who sit in the hammer lane going 55! If they dont get the point when my ARB is filling their rearview then they sure as hell get it when the sun shines in. :D

If it's a fast trail or a fast section then I hate running in front of those with foward facing auxilary lighting. You fill my passenger compartment with light and it makes it more difficult to see outside of my vehicle.

Night rides are popular here in Arizona because it's the only way to escape the summer heat. Rarely does anyone use auxilary lighting. For crawling we all have rock lights so all other lights are usually turned off.

Lars whats is your avitar? Feel like I've seen it before but can't pull it.

As far as etiquette, on the beaches around here at night, we shut off all but parking lights when approaching other vehicles, especially if they're fishing.

The next time I approach someone fishing off one of the trails in Tellico I'll be sure to dim my lights and offer up an Adams Wulf or maybe a Quill Gordon. :)

In that case I"m sure that's not was reffug was thinking, i'm sure he's thinking more of cracker jack boxes or cereal boxes. :flipoff2:

Todd, it doesn't matter to me one way or the other. You asked a question here and I just gave my opinion (not instructions). It just sounds like you have a certain disdain for the guy and his hummer. My .02 Cheers!

Course he has disdain, hummers suck :flipoff2:

In my opinion, if it's between fxxxing up my rig or hurting someone's eyes I'd run the lights if I couldn't see anything while I was on the trail. Just think saftey first when using them, as in don't blind someone going into off camber situations.

Flint, you obviously have never met nor know TJK real well. Not that it's your fault, but just fyi, he is one of the easiest going guys you'll ever meet and I doubt he could have a beef with anyone for more than about 20 seconds.

It is common to slightly poke fun at other vehicles here, kind of similiar on other make forums as well.

Yeah... It's all in the fun. As much as we poke fun at other people with lower level vehicles such as a Jeep or Hummer :flipoff2:, I wouldn't think twice about offering any one help if they needed it on the trail. It's just friendly competition thats all.

Well yeah 'help' them, since by helping fix their vehicle I can quickly show how mine is superior! :D I certainly wouldn't point out things like how mine is running, and their's is not, or how mine is freely moving while their's is stuck, or how all their hot babes are now piled in mine... :D

I like this. LOL. :D

It's non-stop with some of my friends.

-I know you all hate the talk of clear parking lights as well as myself, however clear lenses with a larger bulb works great when your on the trail behind someone. I tend to stay close to the person in front of me, and with there driving lights and my parking lights there is plenty of light on the trail. However like someone mentioned before if there is someone behind me with blinding lights, i just move the rear view and thing nothin of it.

I didn't take any offense, either, Flint, and maybe we can shake hands at the Roundup this year. Hell, maybe we did last year.... Anyway, I hate to agree with Junk, but it's pretty hard to ruffle my feathers and I pretty much take people as they are and frankly have enough to worry about related to keeping my truck right side up on the trail. If I was thin skinned or overly judgemental I wouldn't have lasted ten minutes with the Trails job. ;)

Walmart has some really small driving lights that are $14.97 a pair. They work great as rock lights. They have 55 watt bulbs and tuck in nicely under the rocker panels. I'm running 3 underneath. Oh and these are illegal to drive on paved roads with. So are all those streetglow things. Junk can insert his MR. Bling comment here.

As for use on the trail, my rock lights don't bother anyone unless I go turtle. For the big lights I always just ask the person in front of me to tell me if I'm too bright for them. What is bad is sometimes I just have my low beams on they think it is too bright. I'm thinking of mounting some more rocklights mounted behind the front bumper to aim real low so I won't blind folks but still be able to see.

When I lived in Montana our driveway was 12 miles of gravel road. We had a big Ford pickup that I had 2 big Bosch headlights (10" 210 watt bulbs) on and 2 smaller rectangular Hellas (130 watt bulbs) and my headlight bulbs were 85 low beam 135 high beam. One night there was a car going down our road in front of us late at night. It wasn't any of our neighbors as the taillights weren't correct for any of their vehicles. So I turned on all of my lights and blasted down the road at almost 80mph running this vehicle down. When I got within about 400 yards I noticed across the trunk in reflective letters SHERIFF. He pulled off on a side road and let us pass. OOOPS! As soon as we opened the door to our house the phone rang. I got the lecture about that the speed limit was only 45mph and that all of my lights were illegal and must have covers on them when travelling on public roadways. Luckily I didn't get ticketed. So whatever you did Todd I'm sure I was in hotter water than you.
