I’m looking to replace my cv axle on my 2002 Lx 470.. looking at OEM only, Toyota has a sale on a few right now and but retail is ~$651. I called Lexus and the part is ~$751. SAME exact part number.. wondering if the axle from “toyota” would actually still fit my lx? Or if anyones got experience with this. Almost for certain there’s no difference other than who’s selling it but need advice
PN is 4343060040

Thank you

I'm running OEM axles on my LX from Toyota of Puyallup Washington. They had the best deal on the day that I went looking for axles.

The only difference is the box. When I bought mine the Lexus part was cheaper. Try toyotapartsdeal.com. They had the best price last spring.

Thanks! My biggest concern was any unexpected small fitment issues.

Curious, what did they price you per axle at the time?

Those prices are outrageous. Shop around, you should be able to get one for $450-500. Here’s the Toyota part number: 4343060040.

Thank you. passenger side(pic 1) is throwing grease, right side leaking a bit but very dirty. I could rub off some of that buildup with my fingers but probably thinking about rebooting both.. some guy quoted me 290 for both sides minus boot kit. Or you think better off replace both axles and have 2 spares

What @Trunk Monkey said. If the outboard splines are worn, it’s not worth rebooting.

If no other issues other than "dirty mess," you can defer repair by removing the clamps, squirting more grease into boots via "needle" and re-clamping with hose clamps (with smooth edges). Installing new CV's on a lifted 100 can often result in more dirty mess.

P.S. I find your screen name disturbing because you are using the Letter "O" in place of real Zeros. Lol.:flipoff2:

Are you doing the install yourself? $450 per axle is a great price assuming your getting the new OEM axle (with a 1 year warranty) and installing it yourself. If $450 is the price including labor, the quote is probably for Toyota approved lifetime warranty aftermarket axle that is similar to a Autozone/Napa axle.

Rebooting is the way to go for me. Like $50 in parts and a few hours time. And I still get that "Toyota" steel.

Not if the outboard splines are trashed, for which rebooting would be akin to putting a bandaid on cracked windshield. That few hours time would be better spent actually rebuilding the axle with this kit (4346069145):
