Take a look at this stuff. Shell Rotella ELC Antifreeze, 1 gal. - For Life Out Here

It is the same red base. It is long lasting. It is concentrate @ $14. It is in both my Fords 7.3. It claims to go for 600,000 miles. I have given up on Mr. T's red stuff. Give it a look for a lot less $$.

I am just as " religious" about using OEM, and spend the extra money on most parts, but this is one of those things that can be safely substituted. In my so menial opinion.

Chemistry tells me your 600K is impossible, as coolant could not have enough buffers for PH.
Science never lies.

I guess I'm dense, but what the hell is so great about the Toyota antifreeze? I've had cruisers for thirty years and I've always used green Prestone type antifreeze.

Pink can be used in place of red. It is a one-way substitution. Red is still available in the US market. That could change at some point due to streamlining.

I switched to green several years ago. Less sludge in the overflow and you can buy it at Walmart in Timbuktu at 3 in the morning.

Holy smokes, I didn't know this existed! I am ordering a bunch of it for store pickup. It's $8.19/gallon at my local Wal-Mart. I thought the Zerex was kind of a rip, since it's basically more expensive than the 100% coolant Toyota red (at least locally).

I found this in the store for $11.97, but if you order it online and pick it up in store its only $8.19. Its pink and has all the right stuff.

Dan,
What is your change interval? Thx

Every two-ish years. Distilled water is a must to combat mineral buildup.
