Toyota branded foot rest does not look right when mocking up placement on 06 LX470 (1 Viewer)

this product page says it fits the 06 LX but it does not even sit flush against the vinyl trim. And I can’t snap it in without peeling away the carpet, which means I’d have to trim that to sit against the foot rest. Seems weird right?

I have a 1999. I don't know if the footrest was different 2003-2007 or not.
The carpet cut out looks the same as mine.
Footrest has part # 58192-60040 on the backside.

Just looked up 58192-60040.
It says that doesn't fit my 1999.
It definitely fits.
Weird.

Yeah that’s what i thought. I’ll have to look in the service manual for the exact part #. I suspect they send me one that’s for a 1998 to 2002

Hmm 58190-60120 is what is on the bottom of the foot rest They sent. This is quite odd, it clearly can’t fit there. I’m having a spare key made at the Lexus dealership in Richmond, I’ll see what they say.

Yeah that’s this part number but look at the first pic and tell me that looks correct. There’s like an inch of space between the vinyl trim and the foot rest, in that pic it’s resting on top of the clip poles directly so that would be it’s final resting place if I push it down. Also what’s up with the plastic flange sticking out of the left side of the foot rest. It’s as if it’s meant to interlock with something but on this 06 LX it’s just solid vinyl.

Mine just came in and it's a 58192-60040. and I'm in a 99
so judging from above mine will fit as well...I'll report back.

Could it be that you have the top mount aligned correctly but not the bottom one?
Like pivoted CCW instead of the correct position?

I checked a few times, it’s right over the center of both. I’m going to get a key made at Lexus on Thursday so I’m going to see what they say about it.

Did you ever figure this out? I just got part 58190-60120 for my 06 LX and it looks like your photo in the original post.

mine never seats properly, I thought I was missing some hardware. Is the footrest suppose to press into those two thin pins (not sure what you would call them)?

Yeah it’s the right part, it doesn’t look like it’s supposed to fit there but it does
