I'm trying to finish up a 1975 55 restoration. My :princess: is pushing me hard to install AC. I'd like to keep as much real Toyota as I can. I had AC on my 73 and now finding that It was dumb to not remove it before selling her a few years ago. HELP have AC you can sell? Thanks

Bob I've not been able to get any response from them so this is a bump still looking.

Thanks for the lead - they may have sold it - so that's why they wont respond?

Bob if ou could just get him to call me or answer an e-mail that would be a big help. I'm traveling in the Southwest this week with limited internet. I'll PM you my contact info/

Thanks so much for the help!

Bob thanks so much for your help I've now have a dialog going with them.

this what I'm looking for, Id like to stay 'factory' (Toyota Port Installed ND) on the inside of the cab. Does anyone have any experience mixing old school inside with something more reliable and efficient under the hood? pics are of my last FJ55 with correct air.

Lots of folks have used modern stuff under the hood... Compressor will depend on engine, but condensor/dryer and hoses are nearly universal.

I went with a Sanden 508, a nice parallel flow condensor from ackits.com and a universal hose kit from somewhere like vintage air.

Bob

Do you have the FJ55 HB that goes with this setup? I have all the main pieces you have shown, plus the HB.

OK guys heres pics of my center section

I'm looking for the the under the dash part of the AC - I guess I can use new stuff under the hood but would be interested in OEM under hood also. Thanks

That's the later dash and heater setup so you need the center louvre and the evaporator that takes the place of the duct between the heater blower and the heater core box.

The earlier style in your old FJ55 isn't going to fit easily...if at all. The late heater duct would need some serious massaging to allow the early unit to fit...

So that's what I need (Thanks cruiserbrett) Now any leads on where to find it. I'll probably end up going with current stuff under the hood but I'd like the cabin stuff to be original.

Thanks for all the ideas guys!
