Anyone run these tires? I can get a set of four in 275/70R16 for my stock cruiser for $525 out the door with road hazard warranty and lifetime balance. Sound like a good deal to anyone else? That's less per tire than Revo's including tax, mounting and the hazars/lifetime balance.
I had these on my 4runner and was pretty impressed, they had good side hill grip on slick mud, but I didn't take them into really sticky mud or snow. Good on road handling and yours sound like a good deal.

Toyo and Nitto are the same company. Me thinks the Open Country A/T is pretty much the same tire as the Nitto Terra Grappler. The TG's have gotten some pretty good reviews with folks on this board. Do a search.
1010 Tires.com has a really good forum with feedback on specific tires. I don't know anything about these particular tires but I'm sure somebody there does. They have saved me from some expensive mistakes in the past.
if you're buying a set of new tires which imply some off road use, why don't you think about getting 285s instead? Fits an all stock rig but usually much stronger and gets you an extra inch of clearance...
my 80 i bought in Jan has the a/t's and they seem to have stood up alright, i must replace them now, but i have the service records, and he bought them 45,000 miles ago...that seems decent. they are down to dangerously worn
and ride surpisingly well considering there is about the thickness of a quarter of tread actually showing...
The difference between 285/75R16 and 305/70R16 is 20mm of width (305s are wider).
305s give you 3/4" more footprint per tire.
285s are a fraction taller.
285s typically cost 5% to 10% less per tire than 305s.
Some manufacturers offer tires in both sizes, some only in one.
Both will fit the stock spare tire location.
I purchased a set of five last year for my '93 from a local shop. It came to about $138 for each
tire. No complaints from me. They run pretty quiet on pavement. I don't do any extreme
off-roading like many board members do, but they look to be pretty decent for that too. I would
buy another set when these die ( 50,000 mile warranty ), but thats way in the future. I would
say to go for them.
My 93 came with the Toyos OC A/T when i got it...good in wet/dry conditions...as far as snow, it did okay, a little slip/sliding around a bit but not too much that i couldn't manage....since i don't put that many miles on the LC, i'm sure it will be years before i reach 45k miles on them.
I have had a set of Toyo A/T's on my cruiser for a couple yrs. now and have two reasons I can give why I wont be buying them again. 1. I have had 3 flat tires from rocks going through the tread usually in a void in the tread but man....2.I have noticed a slight vibration after about 25,000 miles so put them on my neighbors balancer roted the tire with chalk against it and discovered 2 are out of round. I also nearly got stuck in some mud once but it was clay like and any A/T style tire would have had problems. I drive mostly city/highway with some offroading here in the Helll's Canyon region, very dry and lots of loose rock.
A buddy of mine had a set of the Toyos on his 4Runner and didn't like them. They rode nice on the pavement, but they were prone to flats on sharp rocks (Deschutes River access road shale). He ran BFG ATs for years and never had a flat when the road was in much worse shape. With the Toyos, he had three flats in two years. Switched back to the BFGs and no problems since.
