Anyone run Toyo M-55s on their 100 series. Thinking about getting these in 285/75-16? I know they'll fit, just wondering if anyone has an experience with these and how good they are both off and on road.

I've been looking at alot of tires and mud terrains seem too aggressive and all terrains look not aggressive enough. The m-55s seem like a good middle ground between the two.

If you got pics, post them too.

That looks like more of a commercial tire than a true AT. It's a full 6 lbs heavier than the OC AT, although the OC is D rated. I would probably lean more toward the Nitto Terra G or GY Wrangler MTR Kev.

I agree w/ Dennis - that looks like a commercial tire more than a true AT. I'm sure it would suit your needs ok as Toyo tires are generally well liked around here, but I don't recall seeing anyone who has personally run this particular tire.

What all have you considered/ruled out, and what are your needs? I recently bought a set of Goodyear DuraTracs in 305/70-16 and have been thoroughly pleased. If you are truly looking for something in between an AT and an MT, I believe that the DuraTrac is one of the only tires on the market that can truly pull it off. They look mean but are surprisingly quiet on road. I'd give them some consideration if you haven't already.

I will also second the rec for the Nitto terra grappler. Excellent tire for the money and wonderful road manners. I had a set on my last vehicle and they wore very well - they still looked almost new after 20k miles.

I had them on my 80, loved them. Had no complaints with traction, especially good in snow and they are not to loud on the highway. Being a 10PR tire and commercial at that they are heavy, but no worries about punctures.

sounds like you are looking for Goodyear Duratracs.

I have terra grapplers and love them so far.

I ran M-55's on my Tacoma and an old Jeep Cherokee I had; they are great tires, lots of wear (89k miles on my Cherokee) but the 10 plies were LOUD, and to be honest the compound is so hard that it doesn't bite as well in ice as I wanted.

Went with BFG's and, had to step "down" to 8 ply, but they are quieter and IMHO better in the ice...
