Hi Everybody! Before I'll start, would like to say Thanks for all people sharing their experiance and helping us (newbies) to avoid several mistakes and faults in our projects. :cheers: to cruisers society.

I am from Georgia (country) and realy big Fun of toyotas and cruiser in particular, I have build my First 80 actually and realy satisfied with (mainly for expeditions and DD). But also I am interested in Offroad as Sport so thats why I have decided to Build the monster :)
I have taken a little time to reflexion before i opened this post and decided for what i would like to build, but with your support and suggestions I am sure my build will be more technicaly proffesional.
So here are my thoughts conserning the project

The body = FJ 40
Engine = 1KZT/3VZ?
Gear box = R151F
Transfertcase = HF2A(full time)
Axles = 80 series axels, Factroy Locked with 5.29 Nitro Gears
Tires= 36-42 (Simex, Interco, or other with agressive Mud treed)

Reason

Where I live we have mountains, forest and some rocks but mainly the forest roads which are Muddy. The Low weight, short base frame, agressive treed mud tires (skinny's 10.5-12.5) are realy important in this kind of landscpe.

Actually

I Have Both the complete front 80's axel which I am preparing for this this moment. I will put som pics later.
I am not decided with frame- Must be light, but must support the 80-'s axles stress. (4runner/fj40/fj70-?)

I would like know your thoughts concerning this Build and all suggestions will be welcome.

Nice .. I would prefeer 5VZ over the 3V and the 1KZ-T over both offcourse .. what I see intersting it's the fact you are planning with the tranny and t-case .. why not just stick with minitruck t-case gear driven that have the marlin 4.7 option .. ?

Because a mini truck case is a centered rear output

I'm not a fan of the fulltime .. then I woult take for a rear pass side output a BF1A from a auto 62 with 2.48:1 as same as 80 series .. or swap those in a 60 BF1A complete manual activated

1HZ and R151 + 37" well what are your wheeling plans .?

40 axles can do with 37" but you will need to swap in some 4340 axles .. cromo gear hubs

Hallo Otka from Kiev :) :p Давайте дружить :cheers:

I saw custom projects of LC40 on native axlex with 37+ tires so won't be a problem I guess.

Did You make a descision which disc brake kits to instal? Trail gear?

Hi all, i need your advise concerning frame fix problem. The frame frame of 40 series is quit rusted and in bad shape. I have purchased the whole frame of an 80 series (for suspention change) and what i have found is that two frame are quit similar in front. The 80 series frame need to be shortened and narrowed a little bit.

If i could fix the 80 frame, it would be ideal cause i can leave all the brackets and mounts - shock, coils, panhard, original, Th 80 frame is in excellent condition much more stronger to support HZ engine.

I would like your advise for these fix. what do you think?

I'm pretty sure you said you were going to be running mostly mud and swamp areas and not much rocks right? Mud = horsepower. Why the choice of a smaller engine? I mean all this work and you won't have enough grunt to spin the tires fast enough in the muck. Just a thought
