@wct49 noticed in one of your ramble pictures that you got an excursion as a tow rig. Is it a 7.3 or a v10? We are looking at/ for one to do the same and am looking for some insight. I know the diesel would be preferred, but the v10's seem a little easier to come by and the power is there, just won't be able pass a gas station while towing a load.
Appreciate it.
7.3 all the way. 4x4 if you can. dabomb.com@wct49 noticed in one of your ramble pictures that you got an excursion as a tow rig. Is it a 7.3 or a v10? CT has a 7.3 Excursion, and it hauls the mail.
Find one. You don't want to be that guy that has to stop at every gas station to and from an event. Ask me how I know.

Thanks guys. The 7.3 4x4s seem to be unobtanium around here, at least with my budget. The ones I've seen they are asking 15k-20k for. I got a line on a 2000 v10 limited that I am going to look at tonight. I'd rather had the diesel, but momma said if the motor goes then we could drop something else in. May call some of the local diesel shops and see what a 5.9 swap would run.
Do you really need the third row seats? Think hard on that. If not get a pickup with a diesel and a nice camper.
The V10 is actually a dog. If I had to tow with a gas truck and I had to have 3 rows I would find a 6.0 or 8.1 2500 Suburban.
Got the little princess that we are working around. Don't really need the 3rd row, looking at it more from a camping and storage standpoint. Definitely making me rethink the v10, even if I can get it cheap.
