The new towbeast. Wish I had another week to work on this and the 4runner. Truck is mechanically tight but the interior is rough. Drove it enough that I trust it and it gets an honest 13mpg as it sits.

Best part is it has no note.

Now i just need to find a slide in camper.

Nice! Congrats..

1996 3500 Chevy dually with a diesel or a 454?
Is there a goose neck ball in the bed? Probably not if you are looking for a camper.
1995, 454, 5speed, does have a gooseneck ball but it looks removeable. toying with the whole slide in camper on a gooseneck trailer thing but the gooseneck traielrs are just so spendy.

Congrats on the new tow rig bud , what no 6.5 ? The 13 ain't to shabby for a big block but chime in and let us know what your getting loaded I have a figure of 8 in mind :crybaby: I guess when its paid for the fuel is lagniappe ;)

:grinpimp: I likes
what no 6.5 ? I have always heard the 6.5 is the punk of diesel motors, power even with the turbo only comprable to a 350, weak, failure prone injection pump ect. atleast thats what I get from all the forums I have read. More for having a crew cab truck for a crew and their tools than for hauling. The 13 ain't to shabby for a big block but chime in and let us know what your getting loaded I have a figure of 8 in mind :crybaby:
My old dually with the same engine but no overdrive got 6.5 towing this trailer and my 4runner. if I can get 8 or above i would be thrilled. Crossing my fingers for 9. the thing is, for what I was paying on the dodge on the note I could buy fuel to drive the truck about 15K miles a year.
I guess when its paid for the fuel is lagniappe ;)

thats my thinking

Congrats Josh. Looks like a great rig.

As for those gooseneck set-ups, that second one looks awesome. An ideal set-up if it's just you and maybe one passenger.

Thanks, I am hopeing to find one with a pop up top. they are not quite as nice inside, but they catch alot less wind.

Would have liked the fleetwood scorpion version on a gooseneck, my wife would have still complained

Yea Larry that sporpion is nice, but you cant put a Fj40 on the rear of it. So Lance and I went the E3 route and it works great. NOT the GREY WOLF kind of luxury but the a/c is nice. :grinpimp:

O.O that is cool, I saw a short popup once, like 8"box or so and i was like "thats so stupid, why so small?" but I never thought about turnbing it sideways and putting it on a gooseneck!

8' would be 96" if I am figureing right so it is well within legal width. Heck as light as they are I could almost put one on a bumperpull trailer.

.

My tow rig.

Not that I would ever tow a Land Cruiser though. Land Cruisers are made to be driven, Jeeps are made to be towed.:flipoff2:

That kinda sounds like a personal challenge. Might just go meet albert when I get off, back the 4runner off the trailer, and drive it to tennessee.

...on unbalanced super swampers... nah, I will just use my inferior gasoleen towrig.

excuse me I need to go search craigslist for wrecked dodges.

We're just giving them a rest until we hit the real off pavement adventure and use them for what they were designed for ;) leave the Jeeps to the pavement wheeling thats their element ;) those 4 doors are taking over Lafayette seems like everyone and their momma wants one to pimp around in.

So lets see the rest of that new diesel rig you scored I heard it was nice :)

Just messing with you guys.

My neighbor's dad passed away and he had this truck sitting two houses down from mine. The previous owner obviously had a depth perception problem because it has dents and scratches everywhere. The inside and engine bay are like new because it only had 39,000 miles on it. I am using it to haul wood for the shop. My wife thinks that it is so ugly that it should live at the shop and not be parked outside of our house. This makes me like it even more.:D

Hard to pass that deal up it looks to be in great shape , what year is it? Guessing early 90's before the big rig design in 93/94. I bet it makes for a great work truck for hauling that wood, would like to run across one of those deals for the drivetrain and swap in the 80 :D

It is a '92.

Yep, I bought it with plans to swap it into my old 60. I figure the truck will fall apart before it hits 100,000 miles, then spring over the 60 and throw in the Cummins.
