Spoke to Daniel at High End yesterday he has a 3 - 4 car hauler 46 FT long goose neck he needs some help bringing to his shop. He said if I helped get it there and fix it I could use it when I needed. I'm not sure its something I'll be comfortable using but I'll go help him get it and see what its about. It has a busted tire and spindle so if I can get the tire off I should be able to move it to his shop :meh:

how far does it need to go to get to his shop and how many axles? A goose that big I would have to think 3 or four times about hooking up to when loaded with anything less than a 3500 dually, Probably weighs 2-3 tons empty.

I think it has 2 axles and that's what I'm thinking too it maybe to heavy for a 3/4 but will look at it just in case.

Yes Sir loaded up and ready to head out tomorrow afternoon. Will post one for you tomorrow ;)

Larry, you're ahead of me. I haven't packed ANYTHING yet. Working till about lunch today and then slamming everything in the truck. We are trying to leave between 4 and 5pm and will drive to Monroe. We are going to sleep there tonight and head off the rest of the way in the morning. We should get there around noon-ish. See ya' then!!:clap::clap:

Locked and loaded sitting downstairs. I've been a zombie for the last week or so burning the candle at both ends so I'm looking forward to that Mountain air to revive me. :D Hope to wake up in Hot Springs and take a short ride to the park. Safe travels and we'll see ya there bud

Need shocks on the Mega Cab any experience to share? I want something to handle the towing abuse but also ride somewhat decent if there is such a thing on a 3/4 ton truck.

X2 My buddy has your same truck Larry and he loves the Bilstein upgrades. I think they are the best shocks for any truck, Land Cruisers included (I have a few).

Thanks gents, is that the 5100 series? I was looking at them today. I like the bags too Paul, Ryan had them on his and he said they were great when towing the big boats. Will see after a few trips and maybe add the bags later would like to add a leveling kit for the front as well at some point not a need right now.

interesting fact: 1500 megacabs are actually built on the 2500/3500 frame. they are 8 lug trucks.

Advanced had a 25% discount thing going with the promo code you gave me SHOX saved about $88 so bought from them. Was just about the same as I could get on the net even with the tax.

Went with the KYB monomax I had read a bit about them and had some great reviews for towing and hauling applications. I think the 5100 is an awesome shock but questioned it for the heavy hauling duties.

The new towbeast. Wish I had another week to work on this and the 4runner. Truck is mechanically tight but the interior is rough. Drove it enough that I trust it and it gets an honest 13mpg as it sits.

Best part is it has no note.

Now i just need to find a slide in camper.

1996 3500 Chevy dually with a diesel or a 454?
Is there a goose neck ball in the bed? Probably not if you are looking for a camper.
