:meh:would have though that with that low of mileage may not be still under warranty but some good faith help as there are all kinds on info on the net about the housing cracking:bang:

What year did they resolve the pump design? My brother-in-law just bought an 08 with 45K and have another looking :hhmm:

not sure what ya b a talkin bout ifn u b referring to the main pump sucking fuel to my knowledge they still do:mad:

Now I know what REALLY happened!!!

One of the reasons I brought to the dealership, besides the fact that I just did not have the time, nor the space at the shop to deal with it, was that if it was the pump, I would have been able to get goodwill assistance or at the very least employee pricing. I did not push the issue with the housing because I don't want to use up any possible future assistance if I really need it. It ended up costing $244.00 to change the housing with my employee discount, so it wasn't to bad. I am just glad it wasn't too serious.

Not a bad price since the fuel filter is almost $50, glad it was any easy fix.

Mike should have noticed the diesel leaking out, since he causes so many fluid leaks.
 
The Shell Lube station on West Congress changed the Duramax oil and filter for $65. Considering that is the same price of the Rotella oil from a store, I taught it was a good deal and easier proof for maintence records during resale.

:lol::lol: Not sure about that one. I don't THINK I am the cause of my leaks.....well, maybe the rear diff but it has absolutely nothing to do with dragging, bashing and slamming that bad boy into rocks all weekend. :hillbilly:

But no smell of diesel over the weekend and with it parked in grass / gravel, no way to see the evidence if it was there. Matter of fact, we couldn't find any signs of fuel on the ground outside my house until John started taking things apart and spilled some diesel. :hhmm:

I'll let you know this evening it felt like it was better and I've still got better than a 1/4 left on the same tank :D It took us 5hrs to get from Lafayette to Hammond Friday with two major accidents 1 in BR and 1 in Hammond had to turn around and take 190 did alot of crawling and idling so I could have done even better. As always thanks for the tips and help :cheers:
 
Avg 13.29 mpg Arkansas - Lafayette with camper
Avg 15.21 mpg No EGR Lafayette - Hammond - Lafayette with camper going there/no camper coming coming back
Avg speed 65 mph

So is the Mag-Hytec rear diff covers worth the coin? They look to be but thats alot of coin for a diff cover IMO. Pissed I have bag of Mobil 75W-140 fluid ready to go in but WHAT, No drain plug :censor:

Lower temps, drain plug :clap:, additional oil capacity, dip stick to check level. I think I just talked myself into one for at least the rear that is most critical.

I always wanted one of those diff covers for the dodge. I am sure they make them for the 14 bolt on the chevy but i would be doubleing the value of the truck.
