I purchased my harness from Hoppy ---> www.trailerwiring.com
Seems like it was about $40. Works great, no cutting, all plug and play.
cruiserdan said:The OEM wiring kit is way-stupid money. If mine ever craps out I'll replace it with a Hoppy.
Eduardo96FZJ80 said:My bad advice! :whoops:
cruiserdan said:No, no,........In a few cases the OEM stuff is just too damn expensive.
The OEM splice-in kit, which is nice by the way, lists for ONLY $169.28........
It aint quite THAT nice........![]()
cruiserdan said:Don't get me started on roof racks....the factory one is a rust-breeding POS that needs to be tossed in the dustbin. Get a nice gutter mount like an African Outback or ARB from Slee or perhaps a Garvin if your billfold can't handle the exotic ones. I have a Garvin that has worked well but I lust after the A.O. aluminum rack....

trinitony said:Actually...thats so true..the PO I bought the truck from ..is a body man and the local Toyo dealership and he said the reason why he never installed one was because of the rusting..he did tell me to go your way..not quite calling it gutter mount..lol
Brentbba said:Absolutely Hoppy for a plug and play. Found one at AZTrucks.com for $33.95 including shipping. Everywhere else was about $45. Haven't received yet, so no endorsement of this vendor, but confirmation on 11/19 said was being drop shipped directly from mfg in 7-10 days. Part number from Hoppy for the kit is 43405 on a '94. I'd fryed the original oem and a cheap replacement from Uhaul that I spliced into the molex connectors has now gone bad as well. Probably fryed the second one when I severed the trailer wiring harness last summer. Blew the brake fuse so why not the converter box on the wiring harness as well. Trailer is fine after a check at RV place. Tow vehicle has defect on left brake light in harness. Simple - replace the wiring harness.

Just ordered it.....![]()
Brentbba said:Mine showed up yesterday afternoon - straight from Hoppy. Do I get a commission on the $15 bucks I saved you for the link to AZTrucks?
