I was tired of always having the wrong size ball or wrong amount of drop. Fancy billet aluminum ones typically only have two balls and are very pricy.

I picked up this universal drop hitch for $25 from Harbor Freight and a 3-way universal Reese ball for $30 from Amazon.

At the other end of the spectrun ($$$) there is this product (Rockinger Varioblock) out of Germany. I've been looking into this as it will bolt into the stk rear bumper as well as its low profile and multi-function design.

I watched the video. Very slick design. German Engineering.

No provision for adjustable height. Would you need a separate attachment for each ball size?

Yes you would need a different attachment for each ball size from what I have been able to determine. However, they do sell a "blank" block that you then could customize (e.g. North Americanzie) to your liking.

Pretty cool! I don't see a way to lock the attachments though (i.e. lock).

There is a spring loaded tab on top which seems to be used to "lock" the attachment to the base to prevent it from rotating, but there no lock to prevent someone from taking it if that is what you meant as far as I can tell.

Yeah I saw the spring button and your right theft is what I was referring to. I'm sure something could be fabbed up.

So I gotta ask----is the lighting bad or is that fingernail polish I see....? :hhmm:
