Unless they added baffles to the oil pan, or a different oil pickup, they can get low oil condition and damage them. But then again, they may reject gravity and embrace some other thing they believe because they read it on the internet during a potty break, so they are fine.

Then again, blowing an engine due to the oil moving away from the pickup on a hard acceleration coming out of the carousel turn at carolinas motorsports park on an old 944 cup car is something to behold from the driver seat. Not that I have ever experience that, just read about it....

I can imagine that put a big ole crease in your seat.

Worst I experienced was the front U joint grenading in an Austin Healy Sprite. Drive shaft flipped around in the tunnel, sheared off the screw holding the ashtray to the top of the tunnel. Ashes and butts flying all over, I thought something blew up. Top and windows were up, winter in PA, so the cloud stayed inside.

Many of you guys are more motor-mechanically versed than I am, so please chime in….

I saw a news story on a local station about these squatted trucks and pending legislation to outlaw them. During the story, they interviewed a “local mechanic” who commented that these truck engines weren’t designed to be kept at these angles and would suffer mechanical stress and premature failure due to fluids not sitting in oil pans as designed etc etc.

Any truth to this or you think the guys was running his gums to be on tv?

Depends on the angle, actual oil in it, and where the oil pickup is. However, the pan should be full of oil and the pickup is close to the bottom, so I see no concerns. I don't care if they blow up their own truck, that isn't the issue., and not why they were deemed 'illegal'.....so yet again news 'reporters' doing the general public a dis-service. They do that far more often than actually adding anything of value to the world.

Bit of a bizarre experience today…

An associate shared something on social media that included text that was actually part of a quote from somewhere else. I politely responded to point out that 1) it was only a partial statement from somewhere else 2) in its entirety it had a much different meaning 3) the person that originally said it is somewhat controversial (knowing my associate would be against the person quoted)…and provided a screenshot of the original posting from Twitter as evidence.

I was IMMEDIATELY asked by her friends if I “really wanted to post something from Mr. X?” I explained that no, I don’t support nor endorse this person, but was just providing the source where the partial quote came from and that I was bringing awareness to the fact that it was from him. Again…immediately told that it is “concerning that I would share MR. X’s posts on FB” and “that my willingness to support such a person raises certain red-flags”. I said that was not the intent, but merely to make my friend aware of where it came from. It goes on as they are all expressing their “concern”.

I WAS BLOCKED FROM THE CONVERSATION…WTF man!?!

Based on the age demographic of this associate’s friends, I can’t imagine that they actually know what “trolling” is, let alone purposely do it.

I feel like I’m in the part of the movie where I just call an artillery strike on my own position and then mutter something about the good Lord having mercy on our souls…

Dude. Nope. I do not associate with @$$ hats like that. People who can’t formulate a complete sentence, let alone think for themselves are a cancer on this great Republic. I am neither Conservative or a libtard (ok, a little conservative) because both are corrupt. I have ideas how to address such childish behavior as blocking me but since I have not personally been on facebook in over a decade, my solution of showing up at their doorstep may seem a big aggressive. Trigger warning, I would rather talk to you in person and look you in the eye than have to type my feelings out for the world to see.

I am sympathetic to your experience and wish those who block you “good riddance”

As an aside: any statements above were incited by the large glass of scotch previously consumed. I’m on Logan’s Run time now.

I feel the same way…I never tell anybody that I associate with anyone/thing in particular, but it is amazing how many people assume I am this or that. I only really have an account for the Book of Faces for access to the “marketplace”.

It’s all good though…I saw the greatest response to a similarly frustrating experience. “It’s like playing chess with a pigeon…it doesn’t matter how well you play, they’re gonna sh@t all over the board and strut like they won anyway”.

Hope everyone has a great time at Logan’s Run. I’m on my own run back to Fayetteville to get my stuff out of storage and bring back a truck. With any luck…2.

Right there with you guys. A supplier we use here at the farm is a Trump fan, yeah I said Trump. He says to me "I know you are a Democrat Stan so I won't push it. My answer was "No, I am not a Democrat, I am independent. Meaning I am fully capable of independent thought, I need neither Red nor Blue to tell me what I think"

When Trump, damn I said it again, was elected, not yet even in office I got into a heated argument with my sister who is a streaming liberal. I told her I did not vote for Hilary, nor did I vote for Trump. But all that mattered to her was I did not vote for Hillary. She went on comparing Trump to Hitler etc while I was stating, yes we know his past but he is the duly elected President, he at least deserves a chance.

Her final statement was that unless it was about our Mother she does not wish to speak with me. Have not spoken with her in 5 years, don't miss her either. I did not speak with her for several years before I got married and my wife talked me into re establishing contact, right up until she met my sister. Thee my wife told me she fully understood my position.

Yeah I get that all the time. I'm fairly moderate but I do have some views that would fall on the left and some that would fall on the right. With out fail I'm either a communist or a nazi if I say something because it seems 90% of the population can't grasp the fact that you don't have to be locked into boxes.

Pictographs seriously! Have we forgotten how to print words on directions. I don’t want to download another app, which may or may not use words to explain how to assemble a natural gas grille. If a company supplies a assembly manual, then write it using words and pictures. When I assemble the actual grille controls, burner, and gas line; I want words and pictures to confirm these more difficult steps are done correctly.
